Onboarding Questions

Who is Atrium?

Atrium is our payroll processing and compliance service. For some of you, onboarding with Atrium is how we run our payroll and where you will find your employment records. When you receive your paycheck via direct deposit, it comes from Atrium.

How long do I have to fill out my onboarding paperwork?

We often hire for events that need additional staff, so filling out your paperwork as quickly as possible is advised in order to be included in the next work opportunity.

The registration link doesn’t work. What should I do?

If you are unable to open this page, please check your internet connection, as it should open in a separate webpage. Once the registration page loads in your browser, click the 'Join' button only once and complete the registration in full before navigating away. Clicking multiple times or leaving the page too soon may result in an incomplete registration.

Profile Building Questions

How do I add a photo to my profile?

You can upload your headshot directly to your NextCrew profile. Follow these steps:

1) Open the app and tap on the three white lines in the upper left corner.
2) Navigate to the 'Profile' section.
3) Tap the camera icon, where you can upload your preferred photo from your camera gallery.

For further assistance, refer to our Staff Library, which features a step-by-step instructional article: How To Manage Your Profile

How do I create a great profile?

We have a lot of resource articles with tips on how to create and improve your profile in our KE University. You can find more information on creating your profile here.

How do I change my address?

Changing your address should be done in two places. First, update your address in NextCrew to receive alerts for jobs in your area. To do this, open the NextCrew app, tap the three white bars in the top left corner, select Profile, and then go to Addresses to make the edit.
Second, if you are part of Atrium payroll processing, you'll need to update your address for their records and tax purposes. Click on 'Update your Employee Info' via the Atrium Contingent Workforce Portal. After submitting the form, Atrium will update your information in their system.

NextCrew Questions

Can I see jobs in other markets?

Yes you can. Add additional cities to your NextCrew profile to see job opportunities in more areas.

To do this:

  1. Open the NextCrew app.
  2. Tap the three white bars in the top left-hand corner.
  3. Select “Profile.”
  4. Under “Address,” add a new location.
  5. Name the new address (e.g., "Second Location") and include the city, state, and zip code.
  6. Travel reimbursement is not included and you must work as a local in said market
  7. Project Managers will schedule you for available hours and cannot guarantee you longer hours because you are traveling. You are working as a local and will receive local hours/pay.

I already have a NextCrew account with another company.

Even though you already have a NextCrew account with another company, you’ll still need to register a separate account with us. You won’t be able to see our job listings under a different company profile, and vice versa.

The system may not allow you to register using the same username as your other account(s), so please double-check before completing your registration. We recommend trying a slight variation, such as adding a number.

Once registered and logged into NextCrew, you can update your new username to match your other profiles, allowing you to toggle between multiple accounts seamlessly.

After ensuring that your usernames and passwords match across all the companies you work for, follow this video tutorial to help merge your accounts:  How to Merge Multiple NextCrew Accounts

How do I download the Next Crew app to my phone?

You can download the NextCrew Mobile app from the App Store for Apple devices and the Google Play Store for Android phones or tablets.  Make sure to Choose NextCrew Mobile

After installing the app onto your device, log in using your registered username and password. Make sure to enable notifications to stay updated on job offers.

Turn on location services in your app so that you can clock in and out for your event.

I’ve already shown interest. I haven’t heard back from anyone.

It can take 24-48 hours for a Project Manager to respond to your expression of interest/confirm you for actual shifts. It’s likely the Project Manager is confirming a few details with the client and are just a little behind in outreach. If there is availability on the event, the Project Manager will reach out directly to assign shifts.

If you expressed interest in the event on the weekend, keep in mind the Project Manager will respond the next business day if there is availability

I finished my profile. Why can’t I see my schedule?

Although you have been hired for a specific event, we still follow our standard booking process, which begins with expressing interest.

Open the NextCrew app, navigate to the “All” or “Open” tab, and tap the “Interested” button for the event. This notifies the Project Manager that you are ready to be scheduled, and they will reach out to discuss your availability and offer shifts.
If you do not see any jobs listed, it is likely that we need to make a few manual updates to activate your profile. Once activated, you will receive a final onboarding email with instructions on how to express interest in work and get booked for upcoming events. Please be sure to follow the steps outlined in that email.

How do I cancel a shift?

Before canceling a shift, always communicate directly with the Project Manager to ensure they are aware of your availability and can make necessary adjustments.

1.   Tap on the "Confirmed" tab to view your scheduled shifts and Find the shift you no longer wish to work.
2.  Tap "View Details" to open the shift information.
3.  Select "Decline" to cancel the shift.
4.  Some shifts come in a group and by canceling the Project Manager may need to remove you from the full program depending on the contract.

Once canceled, this shift will be removed from the confirmed tab and you will no longer be able to view any information about your canceled shift.

How do I accept a shift?

If you look under the 'Requested' tab, you'll be able to view the shifts that are being offered at this time. Please review the dates and times before tapping ‘Interested’.

For clarity, here’s how the tabs in NextCrew work:
- All & Open tabs: Display available events in your area where you can express interest.
- Interested tab: Tracks the events you have expressed interest in.
- Requested tab: Displays shifts that have been offered to you. Here, you can review the details and confirm if you’d like to work.
- Confirmed tab: Once you confirm a shift, it will move to this tab.

First Job & Event Questions

Where do I go for my first event?

Once you have confirmed your shift, you will be able to view all the details of your next job. You should be able to find the meeting spot on the job itself. If you have any questions, you can use the app to chat the project manager for your event. Or, you can contact [email protected] to have them walk you through things.

Will somebody be expecting me when I arrive?

Yes they will! All our jobs have a team lead and the team lead has a roster with your name on it. They will be expecting you. When you arrive, check in with them as well as on your app. If you have any questions, talk to them.

Should I bring lunch?

Details for your event should be on the NextCrew app. There you will find information about break areas and lunch. Generally, if a job runs over a meal time, we advise people to bring a snack or something to eat.

Where do I park?

Every job will give you detailed instructions on parking or public transportation options. If you have any questions, use the NextCrew app to chat the Project Manager for your program.

Can you explain the Crew Note about breaks at the bottom of each job?

At the bottom of jobs, there is a Crew Note that reads: If your shift is over 5 hours but under 6, or over 10 hours but under 11, you agree to waive your first (or 2nd) break unless otherwise specified in your schedule or indicated by you by emailing or contacting Kinetic Events, Inc. This note means that if you are scheduled for 5 or 10 hours and your shift goes into the additional hour by a few minutes, you waive the break that comes to you by working the extra time. Sometimes shifts go over by a few minutes because a client may ask somebody to stay for a minute or two. Significantly extended shifts do not count here which is why there is a range. If you have additional questions, please contact [email protected] for further clarification.

Payment & Paperwork Questions

Where can I see my timesheets?

To access your timesheets

  1. Open the NextCrew app (log in if you aren't already).

  2. Tap the three white bars in the top left corner.

  3. A menu will pop out—look for 'Timesheet' about halfway down the page and tap it.

  4. In this view, your past timesheets will be listed. Scroll down to see more.

  5. Your hours are displayed above the blue 'View Details' button. Tap this button to see your clock-in/out times for a specific shift.

  6. If you don’t see any timesheets, tap the light blue bar showing a date range under the search bar.

  7. Select both a start and end date, then tap 'Select' at the bottom of the screen.

You can also follow the step-by-step instructions here: How To View Past/Current Timesheets

When will I get paid?

Our workweek runs from Monday to Sunday, with weekly payments issued on Fridays. If an event spans two pay periods, you will receive two separate paychecks rather than one.

For your reference, we have a Staff Library with FAQs, including an article on Getting Paid & Pay Schedule, which outlines all pay dates for 2025. You can cross-reference the dates you worked (or will work) with the pay schedule to determine your exact pay dates.

How do I submit parking receipts for reimbursement?

Before submitting your reimbursement, make sure you have a clear JPG image of the expense receipt saved on your phone or computer. The issuing party and expense amount must be clearly visible, as you will need to upload this as an attachment.
1.  Open the NextCrew app and find the job you worked (You may need to adjust the date filter at the top of the main screen to find past jobs)
2.  Click on the blue 'View Details' button and scroll to the bottom of the Job Details page.
3.  Click on 'Add Expense' and:
4.  Enter the expense amount
5.  Add a note (if necessary, to clarify the expense)
6.  Click 'Attach Document', select the expense type, and upload your receipt image/file
7.  Once submitted, your reimbursement request will be reviewed (If approved (which it will be if the guidelines are met), the amount will be added to your next paycheck as a reimbursable expense)
You can also follow the step-by-step instructions here: How to submit your reimbursement request

Are pay rates negotiable?

Our pay rates are not negotiable. If a rate does not work for you, there is no obligation on your end to express interest in a job or take the opportunity. Each opportunity will clearly state the pay rate and the rates are not always the same. Always check the rate before accepting or expressing interest in a job.
